Voyager Spacecraft 40th Anniversary

      NASA and the Smithsonian's National Air and Space Museum will celebrate 40 years of the Voyager 1 & 2 Spacecraft  humanity's farthest and longest lived mission with public event at 12:30 p.m EDT Tuesday on September 5.

  • A Galactic message transmitted toward the Voyager 1 spacecraft by a celebrity guest.
Prime Mission of Voyager Spacecraft:

     The prime mission of the Voyager spacecraft was to explore Jupiter and Saturn. Now the twin spacecrafts are far beyond the solar system, and NASA still continues its communication to discover and explore the frontier where interstellar space begins.
